Sheep Lake Bowl

Sheep Lake Couloir, nestled in the Crystal Backcountry, offers an aesthetic ski line through Chinook Peak. The journey begins with a trip up through Silver Basin to the col east of Threeway Peak, leading to a scenic traverse to the base of the couloir. Skiers can either boot up to the left of the couloir as recommended by the guidebook, or take a more scenic, albeit longer, route around the backside of Chinook Peak, exposing them to stunning views of the Southern Cascades. Despite an initial steep drop from the top of the couloir, the run thereafter is more relaxed. Remarkably, the area manages to maintain a tranquil ambiance despite its popularity, blending adventure with serenity for those exploring its slopes.
