Red Rock Brook Approach
This is the lower approach and or ski out of Red Rock Ravine. While it requires a lot of off travel travel, it’s not as heinous as it might look, and there is some merit to approaching/exiting this way.
Skin the flats of Lincoln Woods to Franconia Brook Trail, from here it’s still mostly flat, but likely a lot of trail breaking. Cross Hellgate and Red Rock Brook, then hang a right shortly after. Moderate bushwacking leads to an old logging road. This is mostly grown in. But the flat contour makes for easy skiing. Stay hiker’s left of the brook until the water holes are filled in enough to skin up the brook. Eventually you’ll reach a junction. Break left for Bear Pond Slide. If you’re heading to Redrock, stay right. More low angle creek bed skinning leads to a spot where you will want to break left and bushwhack out of the gully towards the base of the leftmost slide. Hang a right in an open patch to access the right line.
