The Steaming Gift

One of the most obvious and aesthetic ski lines on Osceola. Anyone who’s driven the hairpin turn has likely given it a glance.
Start on the East Pond Trail. After crossing the Brook, skin another 15 min and look for an open patch of woods to the left. This is the easiest place to start the bushwhack. Once you reach the creek, follow the right side until it’s possible to skin in the creek bed itself, and follow this to the base of the slide. The Steaming Gift has 4 possible ski lines. All offer excellent open turns, each with their own character. As well as great views of the Pemi.
Be aware that this is avalanche terrain and in a very remote setting. Additionally, the prevailing NW winds, paired with its northerly aspect make it likely you will find wind slab here. Or at the very least, punchy snow thats hard to ski well. Plan accordingly.
