19 Mile Brook Trail
This Trail serves as an approach or exit from Carter Notch Couloir, Little Wildcat, Carter Dome Slide and many others.
It’s a mellow skin and a surprisingly fun ski. Assuming you’re skiing it starting from Carter Notch Couloir, start by skinning the Wildcat River Trail back to the pond. Enjoy beautiful views of the ramparts and dramatic landscape of Carter Notch, then descend north off the height of land. Some survival skiing is necessary in the beginning, but the angle quickly mellows out to a long, pleasant glide back to Pinkham Notch. Watch out for the occasional foot bridge and be mindful of and kind to hikers. Chances are they aren’t anticipating you skiing this trail.
